It's All Business Cards by Jamene

To my surprise, I didn't know that Jamene had a business shop dedicated to business cards called, appropriately, It's All Business Cards. Jamene is a talented designer and she although she creates wonderful invitations and illustrations from cute to classic, I was pleased to discover her refined and sometimes unexpected business design selections.

This one deserves a smile due to the anonymous "creature". It seems like it could be for an entertainer or someone in sales, but mostly it's for anyone looking for attention to their business. The addition of the "splat" on the floor gives it dimension and having the sign a little askew is unexpected.

This business card is totally gorge(ous). The quality and detail of the flower is impeccable. It's offset by a beautiful, classic scotch-ruled frame and the blue patterned background helps to emphasize the floral illustration.

Just gotta say how I love this background pattern. It's retro and fun and reminds me of 70s-era wallpaper. (In fact, I think I saw it in someone's bathroom way back in 1973 ;)  The frame containing the business information is angled which fits in well with the fun background. Stellar job overall and it would work well for anyone in a creative field.

Stunning! From the colors to the scalloped border to the treatment of the flowers, this card is brilliant. The frame containing the business information echoes the curves of the scallops in the flowers and border and is much more effective than if it were a straight edge.

Jamene has taken a vintage illustration of a teapot and combined it with a contemporary gingham pattern to make an unusual card for a cafe. The addition of the folded piece of paper adds a trompe l'oeil sense.

Corporate, blocky and spot-on for an architectural firm or construction company. A simple icon is made to seem like a real building. The modern gothic light font fits well with the concept.
The skinny size business cards are a wonderful item that are underutilized for networking. They can be much more than a business card and alternatively could be used as gift tags, appointment reminders and even quick personalized note card. They're simple and can easily fit anywhere. This card, for a hair/nail salon uses the long, thin space effectively. The profile looks at the business information to draw the attention towards the text.
The color on this business card featuring a dress form is reminiscent of a cloth pattern and the subtle coloring adds to that. The addition of the stitching on the white panel assists in conveying the business specialization.
Here is another vintage image combined this time with a contemporary grunge background. The illustration works as it is not overpowering and the cropping is compelling. The color palette is pleasing and the typeface is appropriate with the grunge feel to create a resourceful image.

The color combination of blue and brown is modern and striking. The dotted line pattern resembles beaded jewelry and this card would fit well within that industry or perhaps event planning or a retail shop.
