Hot Stuff by Firedrop Designs

Cards by Cathy and Renditions are two shops under review this week. They are both shops under the umbrella of Firedrop Designs. The former shop specializes in stationery and gifts, and the latter in business cards and custom t-shirts. Most business designs are generic in design and are therefore suitable to any profession, however, a particular forte of hers are business cards geared towards photographers.
Brown and Pink Cute Cupcake Bakery Business Cards zazzle_profilecard
This Brown and Pink Cute Cupcake Bakery Business Cards is an adorable card for a cupcake bakery. The label is appropriate cute; laid out on top of the cupcake patterned background. The pink and brown color combination fits well with the cupcake theme. The label gives the illusion as if it were affixed to a printed box with a ribbon fastened around it.
A striking photograph of make up brushes blend into a dark background on this Black Make-up brush cosmetology business card. The effect is subtle but powerful.
A business card and label for a photographer uses an unusual monogram. The large "P" (for photographer) is made up of words in different typefaces that relate to photography. The name and website are appropriately simple so as not to compete with the detail of the large "P".
Although at the time of this writing, Christmas is well over a half-year away, this Christmas Market Fair Business Flyer deserves recognition. It completely captures the season and would be a perfect promotion/advertisement to use for a Christmas/Holiday market, school function or organization fundraiser.
This lime green damask business card that has a wonderful textural look, somewhat like grass-cloth. A simple damask pattern printing on the left side gives this card a versatile feel. The bold name balances out the large graphic.
This Grey Mod Circle business card has a die-cut feel. The grey circles seem as if they were simply placed on the sparkly red background below. It's a card that deserves a second-look.
This grunge business card is a sample of a card that combines two styles: grunge and classic. The grungy background blends together with a classic look monogram and type treatment. It is unexpected, but imparts the idea that this photographer can adapt to any style.
A clean, modern logo is the centerpiece of this Colorful tree business card. The business name's font is strong, contemporary and next to the logo, echoes the organic feel.

Malibuitalian

It's been a while since we last posted but I realized that I've been remiss in not reviewing designs from one of my favorite Zazzlers. This post is all about Malibuitalian. Not only is she a warm caring person, but its obvious to see from her plethora of designs that she is an animal lover as well as a talented designer.  So let's see what's on the plate!

If anyone reads this blog, they would know that I'm a big fan of shops and designers that develop an entire product line from one business concept. That this fun series of pet grooming products includes an employee shirt in addition to its many matching products, makes this a comprehensive corporate identity series for any pet groomer or dog care business
This landscaping chubby business card conveys the business type simply and effectively. Its a little bit of a departure to show a graphic silhouette of a tree. I like that it is straightforward black-and-white rather than the typical greens or browns often used on products for landscapers.

This fun, chubby business card utilizes an antique-look map to convey the idea of finding your way via traveling. It gives the impression of setting off on an adventure.

Here is another travel-related business card that uses the look of a box wrapped with twine to communicate worldwide travel. The text fits nicely within the confines of the twine and the postmark is a great touch.
This letterhead is another pet-related business product. Its' simple dog and cat silhouettes immediately shows the business type without any fuss.

An employee shirt and return address label are two of the pieces from a maid-service product line that uses a whimsical illustration of a maid complete with apron. Malibuitalian is clear in her choice of graphics that ultimately help a client or customer get their business focus out there and evident.

Frankly, these products make me a little hungry! Malibuitalian has used a wonderful illustration of ice cream sundaes on both a flyer and business card. The awning for the flyer is perfection and I love how it reflects ice cream colors. Absolutely ideal for an ice cream social as used here, or it can be customized for any type of ice cream party or notice. The sundaes are accompanied by delicious looking baked goods and sweets on the business card. The tones are muted and have a vintage feel.

A special-event rack card in tones of pink, purple and black is very different from the products shown above. This rack card obviously is for a nightlife promotion and it picks up the feel of that with its mix of grungy and classic fonts. The funky imagery has a wonderful frenetic look which is emphasized against the rich black background.

Unrelated to business designs, she has a section of her shop dedicated to her Labradoodle, Bella, which makes me giggles every time I see them and I just had to bring some attention to one in particular. This greeting card features Bella as a 1940s Pilot.

Bella implores anyone to check out Malibuitalian for unique business designs (and some that might even make you smile)
