Spotlight on The Spotted Olive

The first thing that went through my mind when I decided that the next Business Design Spotlight would center on The Spotted Olive is "where to begin?" Not only is there a huge selection of products, but it was going to be tough to pick just a handful. The designs are so well executed with great attention to detail and typography, that I want to make sure to do the products justice.
These two pieces from the Zen Chic Massage Therapist line are a business card and a gift certificate. The rendering of the red branch is clean and graphic, radiating a peaceful, Zen impression. The red color is important, of course, as it is considered a lucky color in the Asian culture.

A frequent buyer card and a rack card are just two from the Spotted Olive's Elegant Orchid Business series. This is a versatile image that stands out against the rich black and cream. It could be used for a variety of businesses, especially ones in the personal care industry. The magenta and cream colors are picked up from the image to make the pieces cohesive.
The manipulation of the microphone colors and the background imagery on this Microphone Music Studio Business Card has a rough, antiqued quality. It gives the card much more depth and character than if the microphone was placed as is on a solid color background. (On a side note, even though it is only placeholder text, "Spinal Tap" fans will recognize "St. Hubbins" for the recording studio's name. Love it. :)
A damask pattern is prominent and also used as a watermark on this Chic Modern Damask Stylish Business Card. The brown, beige and light blue palette is contemporary and chic, as is the juxtaposition of the sans serif and cursive typefaces for the business name.

The gold damask pattern on this Real Estate Business Card: Luxurious Style gives the card a high-end quality, making it a wonderful choice for a luxury realtor. The damask pattern is soft and is reminiscent of drapes and fine furnishings, with the gold double rule adding an engraved feel.
This Funky Fresh Business Card is a beautiful card that is quite versatile. The color palette is trendy with a simple, modern type treatment and a rosette logo.
The overlapping transparent panels on this Hip Business Card :: Trendy Ultra Mod positively glow making it a simple and effective image for a green company.

Personally, I prefer graphic design that is simple and clean with keen attention to typography. This Trendy Bird Boutique Business Card fits the bill (no pun intended). The simple blue bird above the text offsets a large amount of contact information, but it doesn't feel crowded and balances well.
Block graphics make this Modern Style Designer Business Card a fantastic choice for a home furnishing business. The colors are borrowed from interior design and the blocks suggest interior structures.
A postcard and business card from The Spotted Olive's Designer Elegance-Ginger series has a high-end look. The panel containing the business name is placed over the subtly-patterned background giving a hand-crafted, layered look to the design. A paper goods business is an ideal industry in which to use these pieces, but other industries such as home furnishings or an accessory manufacturer would be a good fit as well.
This Cute Hello Badge with Stripes Business Card stands out as a reinvention of the usual "Hello, my name is" card. The type treatment, colors and frame appeal to a more fashionable business sense. It would also be a fun personal profile card.
This Lush Gift Certificate (Sky Blue) gift certificate is a versatile adaptation of an invitation-size card. The patterned blue and dark brown leafy background adds a feminine touch to fit any sort of retail shop or personal-care business.

Make sure to visit The Spotted Olive for a wonderful array of professionally designed business solutions and other unique paper goods and gifts.
